Upcoming SPARC Meeting & Program Update - Wednesday, March 19th 5:30pm Online

Greetings SPARC-lers,

It’s been an incredible winter for SPARC, and we’re excited to finish the season strong. Please join us next Wednesday, March 19th at 5:30pm online for a Friends of SPARC Meeting to discuss program progress, volunteer program status, the end-of-season celebration, and ways to continue advocating for and supporting SPARC. SPARC Participation Update

SPARC kicked off in January with an average of ~35 youth per session (up from an average of 22 last year). Attendance dropped sharply for a few sessions in February as freezing temperatures, snow, and ice kept many neighborhood kids home. After winter break, participation rebounded to ~45 youth per session and has since stabilized —an encouraging sign of SPARC’s continued impact! (These numbers are approximate; Parks & Recreation has the exact attendance data.)

SPARC is a community-driven program and your input shapes its future! Please let us know how SPARC has impacted you, your family, and/or your community by filling out the SPARC FEEDBACK FORM on our website. It takes less than 3 minutes. We're looking for honest input on how the program can improve. Parks & Recreation staff are gathering in-person youth feedback at the SPARC sign-in desk too - so don't forget to share your thoughts!

🎉 SPARC End-of-Season Party! 🎉

Mark your calendars—on March 30, 2025, from 2:00–5:30 PM, all SPARC participants (and their families), staff, and volunteers (from this year and last!) are invited to our End-of-Season SPARC PIZZA PARTY! Come dance it out with Freeze Dance, shoot some hoops, and celebrate this incredible Parks & Recreation program. We can’t wait to party with you! Feel free to bring a snack to share (please be mindful of nut allergies)!
